Small and mid-sized pet businesses are where I do my best work — independent veterinary practices, grooming chains, pet retail and service businesses, boarding facilities, and pet startups building their financial foundation. Do you work with pet nonprofits and animal rescues?

Yes — nonprofits and rescues are a core part of what I do, not an afterthought. The financial challenges facing a 501(c)(3) rescue are different from a for-profit grooming chain: donor retention, board reporting, grant sustainability, and long-term funding strategy all require a different lens. I bring that same data-driven approach to mission-driven organizations that I bring to businesses.

Every engagement starts with a no-pressure discovery call. We talk through what's working, what isn't, and what you're trying to accomplish. From there, I put together a proposal that outlines the scope, timeline, and deliverables — no open-ended hourly billing, just a clear plan with a defined outcome.

Is your consulting done on-site or remotely?

Most of my work is done remotely, using collaboration tools that keep things moving regardless of where you're located. For clients in the Pacific Northwest, in-person sessions are available when the project calls for it. Either way, the quality of the work doesn't change — only the commute.

How do you structure your fees?

Fees are structured around the project, not the clock. Depending on the scope, I work on flat-fee project engagements or monthly retainers. Either way, you know what you're paying before we start — no surprise invoices at the end of the month.

How long does it typically take to see results?

The goal is at least one concrete win in the first 30 days — something measurable you can point to. Bigger strategic shifts typically show results within 60 to 90 days. The work is designed to hold up over time, not just look good in month one.
